A group of U.S. Marines and
other military from the U.S. Embassy arranged for five tombstones
to be made for U.S. veterans buried at the British Cemetery,
Montevideo.
The tombstones had deteriorated over the
years, according to Cdr. Vincent Lambert of the Office of
Defense Cooperation at the embassy.
Members of the U.S. military in Montevideo
delivered the tombstones Thursday (May 27) and conducted
a short ceremony to recognize the soldiers on Memorial Day.
