Ambassador Martin J. Silverstein
and his family welcomed over 200 guests, mostly children
from four different orphanages and a care center for the homeless,
along with embassy neighbors, to a free movie night in the embassy compound
on March 3.
The event was organized as an end
of summer vacation treat to help the kids get ready for
their return to school. Movie night included a magic show,
and the film "Alladin - the Return of Jaffar".
The youngsters enjoyed lots of popcorn and
soda, and at the end of the viewing they received notebooks
for school with covers made using a drawing by Elisa Perdomo
Moure who won last year's Drawing and Essay Contest for
the Fourth of July celebration, and Colgate gift boxes containing
toothbrushes and toothpaste.
