Uruguayan journalist Erika Hoffman to participate in seminar at Columbia University

The young journalist won this year's contest organized by the U.S. Embassy and AIPEF

For the third year in a row, the Inter-American Association of Economic and Financial Journalists (AIPEF), in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo, has been organizing a "Quality of Economic Information" contest aimed at improving the quality of economic and financial reporting through training seminars.

This year's winner is Erika Hoffman, a young journalist from Radio El Espectador. As winner of the contest, she will participating in a seminar on globalization at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism from March 31 to April 3.

Prior to her departure, Erika met with Linda Gonzalez, acting Chargé D'Affaires for the U.S. Embassy in Montevideo, along with Hugo Machin, General Secretary for AIPEF-Uruguay and Rubek Orlando, Information Specialist for the U.S. Embassy, to talk about the various aspects of her trip to New York.
