On May 10, 2005, Theresa Boyle and Ricardo Romero from the USDA APHIS International Services office in Montevideo, presented the Certificates of Achievement for the Cochran Fellowship Program to three veterinarians from the Ministry of Livestock Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) for completing their training in Veterinary Epidemiology in August 2004. The MGAP officials had been selected to participate in the 2004 Cochran Fellowship Program, a USDA cooperation program to provide U.S.-based agricultural training opportunities for specialists and administrators from public and private sectors who are concerned with agricultural trade and health issues, among others.

Veterinarians Rosario Guerrero and Eduardo Paradiso received the certificate for their participation in the 2004 Veterinary Epidemiology course held in Fort Collins, CO; and Edgardo Vitale received one for his participation in the same course in 2003.

After the ceremony, MGAP hosted a small farewell celebration for USDA's Theresa Boyle, in recognition for her cooperation with Uruguayan issues, wishing her the best in her new destination (Beijing, China).
