Montevideo Philharmonic Orchestra Presents 4th of July "U.S. Concert"

Stanley DeRusha
Honoring the celebration of the Independence of the United States, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Montevideo will be presenting a special concert on Monday July 4 at the magnificent Teatro Solis. Under the direction of the renowned American director Stanley DeRusha with the participation of the Uruguayan soloist Enrique Graf at the piano, the program will include works by George Gershwin, Aaron Copland, and Samuel Barber.

Stanley DeRusha is Resident Conductor of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra and Director of the Pro Arte Chamber of Indianapolis. He has conducted throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and South America.


Enrique Graf
Enrique Graf was born in Montevideo. After winning all of the national competitions there, he went to the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University to study with Leon Fleisher on a full scholarship from the Organization of American States and the Peabody.

Graf has given recitals all over the world and has been featured as soloist with such orchestras as the Baltimore, Indianapolis, New Jersey, Richmond, Florida, West Virginia, Charleston, New York City and Jupiter Symphonies; the Moscow Philharmonic, the Janacek Philharmonic, the National Chamber Orchestra, the Illinois Chamber Orchestra, the American Chamber Orchestra, the Puerto Rico Symphony, and the National Orchestras of Chile, Uruguay, Panama and Colombia.

Tickets for this concert available at the door. Concert starts at 8 pm.
