Seminar for the Uruguayan Army's Family Support Program Held
in Montevideo Week long seminar designed to support
the unique requirements of the Uruguayan Army's peacekeeping

U.S. Embassy Montevideo and the Office of Defense Cooperation
sponsored a United States Army South (USARSO) Army Family
Team Building (AFTB) seminar for the Uruguayan Army's family
The week long seminar,
designed to support the unique requirements of the Uruguayan
Army's deployment on multiple peacekeeping missions, took
place November 15-18.
The USARSO team consisted
of a team leader, Mr. Juan Huerta, and three U.S. AFTB volunteers,
including the wife of the USARSO Command Sergeant Major,
Mrs. Kelly Wood, Mrs. Delma Morales and Mrs. Carol Husband.
The seminar conducted
various group exercises and presented a forum for professional
sociologists and Uruguayan Army spouse volunteers to exchange
ideas and become familiar with different support mechanisms
for deploying soldiers and their families.
At the end of the week,
all 40 Uruguayan participants were presented a certificate
on behalf of the commander of USARSO. Additional seminars
and exchanges in this program are being planned for next
